Coffee Bar Plans & Instructions
The following wooden coffee bar plan is suitable for all level DIY builders from beginners to experts. The plans include materials and cut list, 2D plans and elevations, 3D diagrams, dimensions, and assembly instructions. Overall dimension of the coffee bar is 36″W x 21 3/4″D x 31 1/2H, these dimensions can be easily adjusted to fit your space.

Step 1 – Framing
The top and bottom frame are used to support the overall structure of the coffee bar, and will be hidden in the completed build. First, cut the 2×2 lumbers per cut list dimensions – four 29 1/2” and four 18 1/2”. You’ll need two identical sets of this.
Arrange the 2×2’s per layout below, then, drill pocket-holes and use 2 1/2” size screws to secure in place.
Step 2 – Vertical Panels
Next, cut the 1×3’s and 1×4 per cut list for the front facing panel. You will need three 26” 1×3’s, one 34” 1×3, and one 34” 1×4. Assemble per layout below, drill dual pocket holes and secure in place with 1 3/4” screws.
Next, prepare and cut 2 sets of 3/4” plywood panels to 32”H x 19”W for the side boards. You can add in the top frame now and secure it to the front and side panels with wood screws.
Step 3 – Shelves
You will need 2 sets of identical shelves. Cut four 1×8’s to 7 1/4”, and two 1×8’s to 3 3/4”. Drill pocked holes and secure together with 1 3/4” screws per layout below. The bottom shelf will be installed directly on top of the bottom 2×2 frame.
To support the top shelf, use 1×2’s as shelf supports. Cut three sets of these supports and secure in place with screws.
Step 4 – Table Top
Next, cut three 2×8’s to 36” for the table top piece. Similarly, drill pocket holes and secure the 2×8’s with 2 1/2” screws. The pocket hole side of the panel faces down, so the pocket holes will not be visible in the final build. You can also construct the table top using other lumber sizes, as long as the overall dimensions are the same.
Step 5 – Cabinet Barn Door
Finally, you will need to cut two 1×4’s in 14” length, and four 1×4’s in 20 1/2” length to construct the barn style door. Drill dual pocket holes and assemble the door together with 1 3/4” screws.
You can purchase 34” – 36” cabinet barn door hardware sets on Amazon or your local hardware store. Install the hardware to the coffee bar first, use a spirit level. Then, position the barn door and secure the rollers into the door with screws.
Step 1 – Staining & Painting
Before staining or painting your complete coffee bar, sand down the wood surface until it is a fine texture. The best type of stain for furniture is oil-based stains. Oil-based stains will penetrate deeper and give it a finer finish, but takes longer time to dry. To paint your coffee bar, use either a satin or semi-gloss finish in either a latex or an oil-based paint. Prime the surface first and let dry, then apply coats of the paint of your choice.
