<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>Step 1 &#8211; Kennel Base</strong></h4>
<p>Cut the 2&#215;4 lumbers per cut list dimensions. The bottom frame is made from two 36 3/4&#8243; 2&#215;4’s and two 18 1/2” 2&#215;4’s, with 2&#215;2 for center bracing. Arrange the 2&#215;4’s per layout below. You can use wood glue to assemble each lumber first. Then, drill pocket-holes and use 2 1/2” size screws to secure in place.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-2594" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-04-1024x589.jpg" alt="" width="1024" height="589" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-04-1024x589.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-04-300x173.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-04-768x442.jpg 768w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-04-1536x884.jpg 1536w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-04-2048x1178.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p>All vertical panels will sit directly on top of the bottom frame, with 1” offset from the perimeter edges. Finish building all the panels first before screwing them into the bottom frame, to ensure all the panels fit in place properly. Drill pocket-holes in the 1&#215;3 panels and use 1 1/4” screws to secure to the bottom 2&#215;4 frame.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-2598" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-16-1024x553.jpg" alt="" width="1024" height="553" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-16-1024x553.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-16-300x162.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-16-768x415.jpg 768w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-16-1536x829.jpg 1536w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-16-2048x1106.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<h4><strong>Step 2 &#8211; Front and Side Panels</strong></h4>
<p>Next, cut the 1&#215;2 and 1&#215;3 lumbers per cut list for the front facing panel. You will need two 33 3/4” 1&#215;3’s, one 38 1/4” 1&#215;3’s, one 24 1/2&#8243; 1&#215;3, two 33 1/2&#8243; 1&#215;2&#8217;s, and three 26 1/2” rebar. Drill dual pocket-holes on both ends of the 1&#215;3’s. Only screw into the bottom lumber piece first. Then, drill 3/8” diameter holes (1” depth) into both the top and bottom lumber to fit the rebar.</p>
<p>Before installing the metal rebars in place, you will need to prepare and paint them to avoid rusting. The best type of pet-friendly paint for metal is the <a href="https://amzn.to/3wexVeo">Rust-Oleum Specialty Epoxy Spray Paint</a>, which is ideal for refinishing metal surfaces and provide a durable finish. Don&#8217;t worry, this process is simple! First, clean the metal rebars of any dirt or rust, then spray two coats of the epoxy paint directly onto the rebars. Allow 2-4 hours to complete dry before installing them on the kennel doors.</p>
<p>Insert the 3/8” rebars into the holes. Finally, add the top lumber piece and secure it in place with 1 1/4” pocket screws.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-2590" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-06-1024x957.jpg" alt="" width="1024" height="957" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-06-1024x957.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-06-300x280.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-06-768x718.jpg 768w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-06-1536x1436.jpg 1536w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p>Next, cut 1&#215;2 and 1&#215;3 lumbers per cut list for the side panels. You will need two 33 3/4” 1&#215;3’s, one 38 1/4” 1&#215;3’s, one 24 1/2&#8243; 1&#215;3, two 33 1/2&#8243; 1&#215;2&#8217;s,  and three 26 1/2” rebars. Total of two side panels. Drill dual pocket-holes on both ends of the 1&#215;3’s. Only screw into the bottom lumber first until you insert the rebar in place.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-2601" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-09.jpg" alt="" width="1" height="1" /><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-2602" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-17-1024x553.jpg" alt="" width="1024" height="553" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-17-1024x553.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-17-300x162.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-17-768x415.jpg 768w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-17-1536x829.jpg 1536w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-17-2048x1106.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<h4><strong>Step 2 &#8211; Flooring</strong></h4>
<p>The floor panel is made out of 3/4” plywood, cut to dimensions below. You can use 2” nails to secure the floor panel onto the bottom frame.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-2606" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-05-1024x691.jpg" alt="" width="1024" height="691" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-05-1024x691.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-05-300x202.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-05-768x518.jpg 768w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-05-1536x1036.jpg 1536w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-05-2048x1382.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<h4><strong>Step 4 &#8211; Top Bracing</strong></h4>
<p>The top support frame will add more structural integrity to the kennel. Cut 1&#215;3’s per dimension below, drill pocked holes and secure with 1 1/4” nails. Position the frame in place, with top aligning with the drawer opening. See next page for section. You can also use 1 1/2” angle brackets to attach the support frame.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2608" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-19-scaled.jpg" alt="" width="2560" height="1509" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-19-scaled.jpg 2560w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-19-300x177.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-19-1024x604.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-19-768x453.jpg 768w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-19-1536x905.jpg 1536w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-19-2048x1207.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 2560px) 100vw, 2560px" /></p>
<h4><strong>Step 5 &#8211; Back Panel</strong></h4>
<p>The back panel is made up of six 38 1/4” 1&#215;6’s and a single 38 1/4” x 3 1/4” lumber. Drill pocket-holes per location indicated below, then glue and secure in place with 1 1/4” screws. You can also use other lumber sizes or 3/4” plywood sheet to build this 38 1/4” x 36 1/4” back panel.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-2610" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-18-1024x554.jpg" alt="" width="1024" height="554" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-18-1024x554.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-18-300x162.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-18-768x415.jpg 768w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-18-1536x831.jpg 1536w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Single-Kennel-with-Drawer-18-2048x1107.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<h4><strong>Step 6 &#8211; Kennel Doors</strong></h4>
<p>Next, cut 1&#215;3 lumbers per cut list for the door panels. You will need two 18” 1&#215;3’s, two 19 1/2” 1&#215;3’s, and three 19 1/2” rebars, per door. Similar to the previous panels, drill dual pocket-holes on both ends of the 19 1/2” 1&#215;3’s. Only screw into the bottom lumber first.</p>
<p><strong>3&#8243; T-Hinge Hardware:</strong> <a href="https://amzn.to/3KjrpsJ">https://amzn.to/3KjrpsJ</a><br />
<strong>3&#8243; Barrel Bolts:</strong> <a href="https://amzn.to/3TcPpBR">https://amzn.to/3TcPpBR</a></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1894" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Capture.jpg" alt="dog crate door hardware" width="591" height="263" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Capture.jpg 591w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Capture-300x134.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 591px) 100vw, 591px" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2613" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Door-Panel.jpg" alt="" width="525" height="478" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Door-Panel.jpg 525w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Door-Panel-300x273.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 525px) 100vw, 525px" /></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>Step 7 &#8211; Kennel Drawers</strong></h4>
<p>Almost there! We will use 1&#215;6’s, 1&#215;8’s, and 1/4” plywood to build out the drawer. Leave 1/2” gap between the drawer box for drawer slides. Cut the drawer panels and use 1 1/4” pocket screws to secure together, attached 1/4” plywood to the bottom with nails.</p>

<h4>Step 1</h4>
<p>First, cut the 2&#215;4 lumbers per cut list dimensions. The bottom frame is made from two 86 1/2” 2&#215;4’s and five 22” 2&#215;4’s. Arrange the 2&#215;4’s per layout below. You can use wood glue to assemble each lumber first. Then, drill pocket-holes and use 2 1/2” size screws to secure in place.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2267" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-TV-Stand-05.jpg" alt="" width="1520" height="875" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-TV-Stand-05.jpg 1520w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-TV-Stand-05-300x173.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-TV-Stand-05-1024x589.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-TV-Stand-05-768x442.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1520px) 100vw, 1520px" /></p>
<h4>Step 2</h4>
<p>Next, cut 1&#215;3 lumbers per cut list for the front facing panel. You will need two 84 1/2” 1&#215;3’s, five 28” 1&#215;3’s, and ten 30” rebar. Drill dual pocket-holes on both ends of the 28” 1&#215;3’s. Only screw into the bottom lumber first.
You can first clean the metal rebars of any dirt or rust, then spray two coats of the epoxy paint directly onto the rebars. Allow 2-4 hours to complete dry before installing them on the kennel doors.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2268" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-TV-Stand-07.jpg" alt="" width="1520" height="852" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-TV-Stand-07.jpg 1520w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-TV-Stand-07-300x168.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-TV-Stand-07-1024x574.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-TV-Stand-07-768x430.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1520px) 100vw, 1520px" /></p>
<p>Build the side and center divider panels with the same process. Then, secure the vertical face panels to the base using 3/8&#8243; dual pocket screws.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2286" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/IMG_1872-1-e1625769949146.jpg" alt="" width="1523" height="1142" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/IMG_1872-1-e1625769949146.jpg 1523w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/IMG_1872-1-e1625769949146-300x225.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/IMG_1872-1-e1625769949146-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/IMG_1872-1-e1625769949146-768x576.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1523px) 100vw, 1523px" /></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h4>Step 3</h4>
<p>Floor panels and top shelf panels will be identical, so you can make 2 set of this. Cut the 3/4” plywood per dimensions below. Place directly on top of the bottom frame, use 2 1/2” screws to secure into the bottom frame.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2274" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-TV-Stand-23.jpg" alt="" width="1000" height="1594" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-TV-Stand-23.jpg 1000w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-TV-Stand-23-188x300.jpg 188w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-TV-Stand-23-642x1024.jpg 642w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-TV-Stand-23-768x1224.jpg 768w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-TV-Stand-23-964x1536.jpg 964w" sizes="(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-2284 size-full" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/IMG_1892-e1625769918463.jpg" alt="" width="1523" height="1142" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/IMG_1892-e1625769918463.jpg 1523w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/IMG_1892-e1625769918463-300x225.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/IMG_1892-e1625769918463-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/IMG_1892-e1625769918463-768x576.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1523px) 100vw, 1523px" /></p>
<h4></h4>
<h4>Step 4</h4>
<p>Next, cut the 1&#215;3 lumbers per cut list for the door panels. You will need two 18” 1&#215;3’s, two 23” 1&#215;3’s, and three 25” rebar, per door. Two sets of doors total. Similar to the previous panels, drill dual pocket-holes on both ends of the 1&#215;3’s. Only screw into the bottom lumber first. Rebar spacing is 3 1/4” O.C. adjust per your dog’s size. <em>Complete cut and dimensions available in the PDF plan version. </em></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2287" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/IMG_1875-1-e1625769995598.jpg" alt="" width="1637" height="1228" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/IMG_1875-1-e1625769995598.jpg 1637w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/IMG_1875-1-e1625769995598-300x225.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/IMG_1875-1-e1625769995598-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/IMG_1875-1-e1625769995598-768x576.jpg 768w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/IMG_1875-1-e1625769995598-1536x1152.jpg 1536w" sizes="(max-width: 1637px) 100vw, 1637px" /></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h4>Step 5</h4>
<p>The back panel is made up of seven 84 1/2” 1&#215;6’s. Drill pocket-holes per location indicated, then glue and secure in place with 1 1/4” screws. You can also use other lumber sizes or 3/4” plywood to build this 84 1/2” x 38 1/2” back panel.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2272" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-TV-Stand-02.jpg" alt="" width="1521" height="886" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-TV-Stand-02.jpg 1521w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-TV-Stand-02-300x175.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-TV-Stand-02-1024x596.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-TV-Stand-02-768x447.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1521px) 100vw, 1521px" /></p>
<h4>Step 6</h4>
<p>Measure the cut ten 1&#215;6’s to 25 1/2” and five 1&#215;3’s to 4”. Refer to the dimensions below for the exact placements. This will create four identical 18” drawer bays. Drill 3/8” pocked holes and secure with wood screws. Fill with 3/8” dowel where visible.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2270" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-TV-Stand-25.jpg" alt="" width="1521" height="1136" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-TV-Stand-25.jpg 1521w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-TV-Stand-25-300x224.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-TV-Stand-25-1024x765.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-TV-Stand-25-768x574.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1521px) 100vw, 1521px" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-2278 size-full" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/IMG_1901-e1625769833114.jpg" alt="" width="1523" height="1142" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/IMG_1901-e1625769833114.jpg 1523w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/IMG_1901-e1625769833114-300x225.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/IMG_1901-e1625769833114-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/IMG_1901-e1625769833114-768x576.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1523px) 100vw, 1523px" /></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h4>Step 7</h4>
<p>Next, we will use 1&#215;6’s, 3/4” and 1/4” plywood to build out the drawer. Leave 1/2” gap between the drawer box for drawer slides. Cut the drawer panels and use 1 1/4” pocket screws to secure together, attached 1/4” plywood to the bottom with nails.</p>
<p><em>Complete drawer build instructions available in the PDF plan version.</em></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-2282 size-full" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/IMG_1903-e1625769860246.jpg" alt="" width="1523" height="1142" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/IMG_1903-e1625769860246.jpg 1523w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/IMG_1903-e1625769860246-300x225.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/IMG_1903-e1625769860246-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/IMG_1903-e1625769860246-768x576.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1523px) 100vw, 1523px" /></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h4>Step 8</h4>
<p>Next, cut four 1&#215;8’s (you can use 2&#215;8’s if you want a thicker table top) to 86 1/2” length for the table top. Drill pocket-holes as indicated in the layout below, then use 1 1/4” screws to secure in place. Pocket-hole side will face the bottom side. You can also construct the table top using other lumber sizes or plywood, as long as the overall dimensions are the same.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2269" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-TV-Stand-12.jpg" alt="" width="1520" height="844" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-TV-Stand-12.jpg 1520w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-TV-Stand-12-300x167.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-TV-Stand-12-1024x569.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-TV-Stand-12-768x426.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1520px) 100vw, 1520px" /></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h4>Step 9</h4>
<p>Before staining or painting your completed kennel, sand down the wood surface until it is a fine texture. The best type of stain for furniture is oil-based stains. Oil-based stains will penetrate deeper and give it a finer finish, but takes longer time to dry. To paint your kennel, use either a satin or semi-gloss finish in either a latex or an oil based paint. Prime the surface first and let dry, then apply coats of the paint of your choice.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Attach the doors with <a href="https://amzn.to/3KjrpsJ">3&#8243; T-Hinge Hardware</a> on top and bottom hinge location. Then, install <a href="https://amzn.to/3TcPpBR">3&#8243; Barrel Bolts</a> to complete the doors. I found both of these hardware that fits the dimensions on Amazon, links below for reference:</p>

&#8211; 2 1/2&#8243; Pocket Screws<br />
&#8211; 3/8&#8243; Dowels</p>
<p><strong>PROJECT TOOLS<br />
</strong>&#8211; Tape Measure<br />
&#8211; Pocket-hole Jig<br />
&#8211; Cordless Drill<br />
&#8211; Miter Saw / Circular Saw<br />
&#8211; Sandpaper or Sand Block<br />
&#8211; <a href="https://buildblueprint.com/tools/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Refer to the woodworking tool guide for more information</a></p>
<h4><strong>Step 1</strong></h4>
<p>First, we will build out the kennel&#8217;s top shelves, this is where the drawers will insert to (you can also leave them as cubbies). Cut the 1&#215;6 lumbers and 3/4&#8243; plywood per cut list dimensions below, you will need 2 identical plywood for the shelf panels.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2099" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-27.jpg" alt="" width="845" height="950" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-27.jpg 845w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-27-267x300.jpg 267w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-27-768x863.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 845px) 100vw, 845px" /></p>
<h4><strong>Step 2</strong></h4>
<p>Before placing the shelf panels in place, we will need to build out the supports using 1&#215;2&#8217;s. Cut four 1&#215;2&#8217;s to 30 7/8&#8243; and four more 1&#215;2&#8217;s to 20 1/2&#8243;, you can use wood glue and 1 1/4&#8243; pocket screws to secure these in place. These will sit directly below the two shelf panels, so about 0.725&#8243; below the top of the vertical panels, measure carefully before installing. You&#8217;ll want the top of the shelf panels to be flush with top of all the vertical panels.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2083" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-26.jpg" alt="" width="1000" height="1247" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-26.jpg 1000w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-26-241x300.jpg 241w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-26-821x1024.jpg 821w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-26-768x958.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></p>
<h4><strong>Step 3</strong></h4>
<p>Next, install the cubby panels per layout below. The smaller front 1&#215;3 stiles are spaced with 20&#8243; of gap in-between each one, refer to the elevation diagram below for exact placement. Use wood glue and 1 1/4&#8243; pocket screws to secure these in place.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-2088 size-full" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-35-e1617138878885.jpg" alt="" width="1530" height="742" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-35-e1617138878885.jpg 1530w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-35-e1617138878885-300x145.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-35-e1617138878885-1024x497.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-35-e1617138878885-768x372.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1530px) 100vw, 1530px" /></p>
<p>Then, add in the eight cubby dividers (20 1/2&#8243; 1&#215;6&#8217;s) to align with the cubby stiles per layout below. Use wood glue and 1 1/4&#8243; pocket screws to secure them in place, to create three identical cubbies. The drawers in the next step will slide into these cubbies.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2109" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-28-updated.jpg" alt="" width="1521" height="927" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-28-updated.jpg 1521w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-28-updated-300x183.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-28-updated-1024x624.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-28-updated-768x468.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1521px) 100vw, 1521px" /></p>
<h4><strong>Step 4</strong></h4>
<p>The table top panel is 24&#8243; x 70 1/2&#8243;, you can make these out of four 2&#215;6&#8217;s, secured together with 2 1/2&#8243; pocket screws. The border trim is made from 1&#215;2&#8217;s, this is optional if you want a more polished perimeter edge. Sand down the surfaces and edges before attaching the table top to the panels below.</p>
<p>Use 1 1/4&#8243; pocket screws to secure the back panel, cubby stiles to the table top.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2115" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-17.jpg" alt="diy dog kennel tv stand plans and instructions" width="1520" height="888" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-17.jpg 1520w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-17-300x175.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-17-1024x598.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-17-768x449.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1520px) 100vw, 1520px" /></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>Step 5</strong></h4>
<p>The drawers are made out of 1&#215;6&#8217;s and 3/4&#8243; and 1/4&#8243; plywood. You will also need 20&#8243; drawer slides (available on Amazon) that attaches to the side of the drawers and cubbies. The drawers are optional for this kennel design, you can also just omit these and keep the cubbies.</p>
<p>Finally, add 5&#8243; black metal bar drawer handles, on center with each drawer face. You can build up to three drawers for this kennel.</p>
<p><strong>5&#8243; Bar Drawer Handles (5 pack):</strong> <a href="https://amzn.to/3A53OHd">https://amzn.to/3A53OHd</a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2086" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-30.jpg" alt="" width="1038" height="1069" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-30.jpg 1038w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-30-291x300.jpg 291w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-30-994x1024.jpg 994w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-30-768x791.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1038px) 100vw, 1038px" /></p>
<p>Insert the completed drawers into the cubbies. And just like that, your double kennel tv stand is complete!</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2087" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-32.jpg" alt="" width="998" height="916" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-32.jpg 998w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-32-300x275.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Dog-Kennel-Entertainment-Center-32-768x705.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 998px) 100vw, 998px" /></p>

&#8211; <a href="https://buildblueprint.com/tools/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Refer to the woodworking tool guide for more information</a></p>
<h4><strong>Step 1</strong></h4>
<p>Cut the 2&#215;4 lumbers per cut list dimensions. The bottom frame is made from two 6’-0” 2&#215;4’s and three 17” 2&#215;4’s. Arrange the 2&#215;4’s per layout below. You can use wood glue to assemble each lumber first. Then, drill pocket-holes and use 2 1/2” size screws to secure in place.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2046" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-05.jpg" alt="" width="1520" height="875" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-05.jpg 1520w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-05-300x173.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-05-1024x589.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-05-768x442.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1520px) 100vw, 1520px" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2054" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-21.jpg" alt="" width="1520" height="822" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-21.jpg 1520w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-21-300x162.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-21-1024x554.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-21-768x415.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1520px) 100vw, 1520px" /></p>
<h4><strong>Step 2</strong></h4>
<p>Next, cut 1&#215;3 lumbers per cut list for the front facing panel. You will need two 5’-10” 1&#215;3’s, five 19 1/2” 1&#215;3’s, and six 21 1/2” rebars. Drill dual pocket-holes on both ends of the 19 1/2” 1&#215;3’s. Only screw into the bottom 5’-10” lumber first.
Finally, add the top lumber and secure it in place with 1 1/4” pocket screws.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2047" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-07.jpg" alt="" width="1520" height="852" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-07.jpg 1520w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-07-300x168.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-07-1024x574.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-07-768x430.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1520px) 100vw, 1520px" /></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>Step 3</strong></h4>
<p>Next, cut 1&#215;3 lumbers per cut list for the side panels. You will need two 20 1/2” 1&#215;3’s, two 19 1/2” 1&#215;3’s, and three 21 1/2” rebars, per panel. Total of three side panels. Drill dual pocket-holes on both ends of the 19 1/2” 1&#215;3’s. Only screw into the bottom lumber first.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2056" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-23-1.jpg" alt="" width="1512" height="817" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-23-1.jpg 1512w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-23-1-300x162.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-23-1-1024x553.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-23-1-768x415.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1512px) 100vw, 1512px" /></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>Step 4</strong></h4>
<p>The dog kennel&#8217;s floor will be made from two identical panels. Cut the 1&#215;6&#8217;s to size per cut list, you&#8217;ll need to rip down two 1&#215;6&#8217;s to 4&#8243;. Drill pocket-holes and secure each lumber in place with 1 1/4” screws. Insert both floor panels on top of the bottom frame.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2058" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-06.jpg" alt="" width="1520" height="830" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-06.jpg 1520w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-06-300x164.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-06-1024x559.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-06-768x419.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1520px) 100vw, 1520px" /></p>
<p>The back panel is made up of three 5’-10” 1&#215;6’s and a single 5&#8242;-10” x 8” piece. Drill pocket holes per location indicated below, then glue and secure in place with 1 1/4” screws. You can also use other lumber sizes to build this 5&#8242;-10” x 24 1/2” back panel.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2057" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-04.jpg" alt="" width="1520" height="771" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-04.jpg 1520w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-04-300x152.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-04-1024x519.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-04-768x390.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1520px) 100vw, 1520px" /></p>
<h4><strong>Step 5</strong></h4>
<p>Next, cut 1&#215;3 lumbers per cut list for the door panels. You will need two 16 1/4” 1&#215;3’s, two 14 1/2” 1&#215;3’s, and three 16 1/2” rebars, per door. Two sets of doors total. Similar to the previous panels, drill dual pocket-holes on both ends of the 14 1/2” 1&#215;3’s. Only screw into the bottom lumber first, and insert rebar per diagram below.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2059" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-12.jpg" alt="" width="1520" height="1520" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-12.jpg 1520w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-12-300x300.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-12-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-12-150x150.jpg 150w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-12-768x768.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1520px) 100vw, 1520px" /></p>
<p><strong>3&#8243; T-Hinge Hardware:</strong> <a href="https://amzn.to/3KjrpsJ">https://amzn.to/3KjrpsJ</a><br />
<strong>3&#8243; Barrel Bolts:</strong> <a href="https://amzn.to/3TcPpBR">https://amzn.to/3TcPpBR</a></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1894" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Capture.jpg" alt="dog crate door hardware" width="591" height="263" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Capture.jpg 591w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Capture-300x134.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 591px) 100vw, 591px" /></p>
<h4><strong>Step 6</strong></h4>
<p>Finally, cut two 2&#215;10’s, and a 2&#215;6 to 6’-0”, for the kennel&#8217;s table top piece. Drill pocket-holes as indicated in the layout below, then use 2 1/2” screws to secure in place. Pocket-hole side will face the bottom side. You can also construct the table top using other lumber sizes, as long as the overall dimensions are the same.</p>
<p>Now the kennel is complete, sand and clean off the surface dusts to prepare for staining or painting.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2060" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-17.jpg" alt="" width="1520" height="888" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-17.jpg 1520w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-17-300x175.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-17-1024x598.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Med-Double-Dog-Kennel-17-768x449.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1520px) 100vw, 1520px" /></p>

<h4><strong>Step 1</strong></h4>
<p>Cut the 2&#215;4 lumbers per cut list dimensions. The bottom frame is made from two 45 1/4&#8243; 2&#215;4’s and two 22” 2&#215;4’s. Arrange the 2&#215;4’s per layout below. You can use wood glue to assemble each lumber first. Then, drill pocket-holes and use 2 1/2” size screws to secure in place.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2000" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-05.jpg" alt="large single dog kennel framing" width="1520" height="875" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-05.jpg 1520w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-05-300x173.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-05-1024x589.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-05-768x442.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1520px) 100vw, 1520px" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2003" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-21.jpg" alt="Large single dog kennel front panel plan" width="1520" height="822" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-21.jpg 1520w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-21-300x162.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-21-1024x554.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-21-768x415.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1520px) 100vw, 1520px" /></p>
<h4><strong>Step 2</strong></h4>
<p>Next, cut 1&#215;3 lumbers per cut list for the front facing panel. You will need two 43 1/4” 1&#215;3’s, three 24 1/2” 1&#215;3’s, and four 26 1/2” rebar. Drill dual pocket-holes on both ends of the 24 1/2” 1&#215;3’s.
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2001" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-07.jpg" alt="large single dog kennel diy dimensions" width="1520" height="852" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-07.jpg 1520w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-07-300x168.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-07-1024x574.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-07-768x430.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1520px) 100vw, 1520px" /></p>
<p>Next, cut 1&#215;3 lumbers per cut list for the side panels. You will need two 25 1/2” 1&#215;3’s, two 24 1/2” 1&#215;3’s, and four 26 1/2” rebars, per panel. Total of two side panels. Drill dual pocket-holes on both ends of the 24 1/2” 1&#215;3’s. Only screw into the bottom lumber first until you insert the rebar in place.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2002" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-22.jpg" alt="make your own large single dog kennel" width="1520" height="821" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-22.jpg 1520w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-22-300x162.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-22-1024x553.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-22-768x415.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1520px) 100vw, 1520px" /></p>
<p>The back panel measures 43 1/4&#8243; x 29 1/2&#8243;, you can use any 1x lumber materials to construct this, or use 3/4&#8243; plywood. Drill pocket holes per location indicated below, then glue and secure in place with 1 1/4” screws.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1996" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-23.jpg" alt="large dog kennel panel installation" width="1512" height="817" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-23.jpg 1512w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-23-300x162.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-23-1024x553.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-23-768x415.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1512px) 100vw, 1512px" /></p>
<h4><strong>Step 3</strong></h4>
<p>Similarly, the floor panels will be constructed the same way. Use 3/4&#8243; plywood or any 1x lumber material to construct the 41 3/4&#8243; x 25 1/2&#8243; floor panel. Drill pocket-holes and secure each lumber in place with 1 1/4” screws. Insert both floor panels on top of the bottom frame.<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1999" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-04.jpg" alt="large dog kennel diy instructions" width="1520" height="1327" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-04.jpg 1520w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-04-300x262.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-04-1024x894.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-04-768x670.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1520px) 100vw, 1520px" /></p>
<h4><strong>Step 4</strong></h4>
<p>Next, cut 1&#215;3 lumbers per cut list for the door panels. You will need two 18” 1&#215;3’s, two 19 1/2” 1&#215;3’s, and three 19 1/2” rebars for the single door. Similar to the previous panels, drill dual pocket-holes on both ends of the 19 1/2” 1&#215;3’s. Only screw into the bottom lumber first until you insert the rebar in place.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1992" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-08.jpg" alt="" width="1520" height="726" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-08.jpg 1520w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-08-300x143.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-08-1024x489.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-08-768x367.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1520px) 100vw, 1520px" /></p>
<p><strong>3&#8243; T-Hinge Hardware:</strong> <a href="https://amzn.to/3KjrpsJ">https://amzn.to/3KjrpsJ</a><br />
<strong>3&#8243; Barrel Bolts:</strong> <a href="https://amzn.to/3TcPpBR">https://amzn.to/3TcPpBR</a></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1894" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Capture.jpg" alt="dog crate door hardware" width="591" height="263" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Capture.jpg 591w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Capture-300x134.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 591px) 100vw, 591px" /></p>
<h4><strong>Step 5</strong></h4>
<p>Finally, cut four 45 1/4” 2&#215;8’s for the table top piece. Drill pocket-holes as indicated in the layout below, then use 2 1/2” screws to secure in place. Pocket-hole side will face the bottom side.</p>
<p>Good job! Your large single dog kennel is complete! The next step is to sand and clean off the surface dusts and prepare for staining or painting.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1995" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-17.jpg" alt="single dog kennel diy material list" width="1520" height="888" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-17.jpg 1520w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-17-300x175.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-17-1024x598.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Large-Single-Dog-Kennel-17-768x449.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1520px) 100vw, 1520px" /></p>

&#8211; <a href="https://buildblueprint.com/tools/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Refer to the woodworking tool guide for more information</a></p>
<h4><strong>Step 1</strong></h4>
<p>Cut the 2&#215;4 lumbers per cut list dimensions. The bottom frame is made from two 7’-2” 2&#215;4’s and three 22” 2&#215;4’s. Arrange the 2&#215;4’s per layout below. You can use wood glue to assemble each lumber first. Then, drill pocket-holes and use 2 1/2” size screws to secure in place.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1864" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-05.jpg" alt="large double dog kennel bottom frame" width="1520" height="875" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-05.jpg 1520w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-05-300x173.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-05-1024x589.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-05-768x442.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1520px) 100vw, 1520px" /></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>All vertical panels will sit directly on top of the bottom frame, with 1” offset from the perimeter edges. Finish building all the panels first before screwing them into the bottom frame, to ensure all the panels fit in place properly. Drill pocket-holes in the 1&#215;3 panels and use 1 1/4” screws to secure to the bottom 2&#215;4 frame.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1872" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-21.jpg" alt="double dog kennel front panel" width="1520" height="822" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-21.jpg 1520w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-21-300x162.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-21-1024x554.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-21-768x415.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1520px) 100vw, 1520px" /></p>
<h4><strong>Step 2</strong></h4>
<p>Next, cut 1&#215;3 lumbers per cut list for the front facing panel. You will need two 7’-0” 1&#215;3’s, five 24 1/2” 1&#215;3’s, and eight 26 1/2” rebars. Drill dual pocket-holes on both ends of the 24 1/2” 1&#215;3’s. Only screw into the bottom 7’-0” lumber first.
The process is simple, you can first clean the metal rebars of any dirt or rust, then spray two coats of the epoxy paint directly onto the rebars. Allow 2-4 hours to complete dry before installing them on the kennel doors.</p>
<p>Insert the 3/8” rebars into the holes. Finally, add the top 7’-0” lumber and secure it in place with 1 1/4” pocket screws.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1865" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-07.jpg" alt="large double dog kennel front panel dimensions" width="1520" height="852" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-07.jpg 1520w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-07-300x168.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-07-1024x574.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-07-768x430.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1520px) 100vw, 1520px" /></p>
<p>Next, cut 1&#215;3 lumbers per cut list for the side panels. You will need two 25 1/2” 1&#215;3’s, two 24 1/2” 1&#215;3’s, and four 26 1/2” rebars, per panel. Total of three side panels. Drill dual pocket-holes on both ends of the 24 1/2” 1&#215;3’s. Only screw into the bottom lumber first.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1873" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-22.jpg" alt="double dog kennel diy instructions" width="1520" height="821" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-22.jpg 1520w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-22-300x162.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-22-1024x553.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-22-768x415.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1520px) 100vw, 1520px" /></p>
<p>The back panel is made up of five 7’-0” 1&#215;6’s and a single 84” x 2” piece. Drill pocket holes per location indicated below, then glue and secure in place with 1 1/4” screws. You can also use other lumber sizes to build this 84” x 29 1/2” back panel.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1874" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-23.jpg" alt="dog kennel diy dimensions" width="1512" height="817" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-23.jpg 1512w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-23-300x162.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-23-1024x553.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-23-768x415.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1512px) 100vw, 1512px" /></p>
<h4><strong>Step 3</strong></h4>
<p>Similarly, the floor panels will be constructed the same way. Cut eight 40 7/8” 1&#215;6’s and two 40 7/8” 1&#215;4’s. Drill pocket-holes and secure each lumber in place with 1 1/4” screws. Insert both floor panels on top of the bottom frame.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1863" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-04.jpg" alt="large double dog crate floor plan" width="1520" height="1327" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-04.jpg 1520w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-04-300x262.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-04-1024x894.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-04-768x670.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1520px) 100vw, 1520px" /></p>
<h4><strong>Step 4</strong></h4>
<p>Next, cut 1&#215;3 lumbers per cut list for the door panels. You will need two 18” 1&#215;3’s, two 19 1/2” 1&#215;3’s, and three 19 1/2” rebars, per door. Two sets of doors total. Similar to the previous panels, drill dual pocket-holes on both ends of the 19 1/2” 1&#215;3’s. Only screw into the bottom lumber first.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1866" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-08.jpg" alt="double dog crate doors diy" width="1520" height="726" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-08.jpg 1520w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-08-300x143.jpg 300w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-08-1024x489.jpg 1024w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Large-Double-Dog-Kennel-08-768x367.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1520px) 100vw, 1520px" /></p>
<h4>Step 5</h4>
<p>Next, attach the doors with <a href="https://amzn.to/3KjrpsJ">3&#8243; T-Hinge Hardware</a> on top and bottom hinge location. Then, install <a href="https://amzn.to/3TcPpBR">3&#8243; Barrel Bolts</a> to complete the doors. I found both of these hardware that fits the dimensions on Amazon, links below for reference:</p>

<strong>3&#8243; Barrel Bolts:</strong> <a href="https://amzn.to/3TcPpBR">https://amzn.to/3TcPpBR</a></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1894" src="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Capture.jpg" alt="dog crate door hardware" width="591" height="263" srcset="https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Capture.jpg 591w, https://buildblueprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Capture-300x134.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 591px) 100vw, 591px" /></p>
<h4><strong>Step 6</strong></h4>
<p>Finally, cut four 7’-2” 2&#215;8’s for the table top piece. Drill pocket-holes as indicated in the layout below, then use 2 1/2” screws to secure in place. Pocket-hole side will face the bottom side.</p>
<p>Now the kennel is complete, sand and clean off the surface dusts to prepare for staining or painting.</p>
